It's been brutally hot in New York City with the peak high of 108f (42c) and at times the leaves were not wiggling. It finally cooled off some Yesterday and I headed to Nickerson Beach in the morning. I was surprised to find hot fog and while I love to shoot in fog not being able to cool down by sweating wares on me. Tern chicks did something I've never seen before. They were lead across about 25 yards of sand from the nesting area to the water's edge by one of the older chicks. This was unusual and I watched and took photos and then the oldest went into the surf. Hear are photos of that chick, they are heavily cropped yet precious.
