This lens turned me on completely to bird photography. It may be f11 but at 800mm the focus plane is quite thin, so one can still get bokeh. And it is light! It shines best, I think, with Canon's recent mirrorless cameras. If you buy it new, you don't get a lens hood nor a tripod mount.
