I'd like to send my 90d in for repair. I used to use Midwest Camera in Wyandotte MI for out of warranty repair but I see they closed a few years back.
Anyone have a recommended shop for out of warranty repairs?
Thanks Marc
(if anyone is interested, the mode selector dial no longer operates correctly. The mode switches almost randomly. I can set the dial to "M" but the camera stays in Av. Some google searching suggests, while not common, it's known)
According to the Canon Japan product support website, the 90D will be supported by Canon until 2031, therefore you can send it directly to Canon USA. Is there an aversion to doing so? Cost?

cost is one. Also, I like to know all my options.
It's the difference between bringing your car to the dealership vs a good local mechanic.

Mid-State Camera Repair in Rhode Island did a great job with my older 300 2.8. You can call on the phone and find out if it is a big repair or simple.
I have also used Mid-State Camera for repairs, shutters and mirror boxes on two of my 1Dx's a few years ago, when Canon quit servicing them. Can recommend.

thanks for the endorsement. I sent them an email through their website asking for an estimate. Now I wait for a response.
