Hood locks in place but a bit loose/wiggles in both positions - It has no effect on the end result - not sure if this in the design or some other defect in the hood mount (cheap lens so why worry?) - plus one noticeable mark on the zoom ring - so I downgraded the otherwise excellent condition to reflect the imperfections - VG
