From years ago..Lily Pons, a family generations olde business closed.
...."After 108 years, Lilypons Water Gardens to close in March..
Lilypons Water Garden, a fourth-generation family-owned business, will close its doors for good on March 28.
The business was founded in 1917, during the Woodrow Wilson administration, by George L. Thomas Sr. as Three Springs Fisheries, according to Margaret Koogle, the current company president and Thomas's great-granddaughter.
Raising fish for pet stores was the original business. In recent years, the focus shifted to homeowners with ponds and aquatic plants.
"It's been a wonderful business," Koogle said. "We deliver serenity to people every day and I don't think there's much better you could do than that."
She said the main reason for closing is that "no one in the fifth generation is interested in continuing the business.".,.,.
Very sad! I wish I was younger and had some investment money.
