I like this one particularly, since it shows how well it fits in and also how steep it is... amazing climbers!

Even though I did was not in the presence of these majestic creatures, I get a "rush" seeing them and knowing they are your neighbors Greg!!!

If this was my backyard, my butt would be seated here all day....!!
Excellent!

And hard to believe, the next evening had some dry spells, too! RIP James Bond.

Thanks Dan, I love this time of the year. We have had some cool rainy weather and it really brought the moose out. Rut is on right now so there is a lot of action. On a really sad note a hunter illegally shot and killed a large bull on private propery Tuesday morning. Let's just say he's in a lot of trouble. That really pissed me off when I saw the dead bull. He was one of my favorites over the years. Big kudos to the wildlife officer who responded and took care of it.

Good!
Yes I can hear my neighbor's bulls "mooing" for females over a mile away!
Sad to hear this.

Our cool rainy weather starts tomorrow through all next week. Fall can be seen in muted color changes right now and I am looking forward to Fall-Winter..
Local news weather states this has been "thee" hottest summer EVER around here. I agree..it was the nightime temps that did it...just a few degrees from the daily "high temp" to nightly "low temp".

One of my most favorite of characters Stan! I only really enjoyed Sean Connery and Daniel Craig.

Thursday Night Football - regular season home opener in the new Highmark Stadium...

20 VCM

(Image hosting server appears to be very slow with loading images lately - if you don't see anything, give it time.)

First impressions from a photographer's perspective:

Lights are at least one stop brighter and more even than the old stadium at ISO 1600 1/1600 f/2.8. Would have been nice to have had that back in the film days!
Not much wind gets down to the field, as a result, all that fireworks smoke settles into the bowl and it gets really hazy for a few minutes each time after the Bills score (and they shoot more fireworks).
Real grass field! Can't believe it, but looks like day games and 600mm downfield action will be possible without horrendous heat waves!

Thanks, though I think I could have found use for the 14 VCM, 10-20/4 or even the new fisheye zoom.

10-20 probably would have been the most versatile. Unfortunately I didn't think that far ahead to request one from CPS, but maybe for a future game...

OT but still photography related. Between the first and second quarters they had a photographer do a gigapixel 360Ëš panorama from centre field. I saw him coming off the field and was wondering what the tripod and two cameras on a custom bracket were for. Didn't see make/model, but guessing FF mirrorless and two cameras to cut the shooting time in half. Based on the clocks on a couple screens, it took at least 30 seconds to shoot about one half.

Final panorama is here: https://gigapixel.panoramas.com/buffalobills/20260917/

And yes, I'm in it and very easily identifiable, as most people in attendance are. If you're looking for me, I'm on the field with a 100-300 and second camera with 28-70/2. As you'll notice, the proliferation of Sony on the sidelines is only increasing... probably neck and neck with Canon, if not slightly ahead.

This Steller’s (not Stellar’s) Jay was competing with squirrels in trying to harvest acorns from oak trees. It possesses an expandable throat pouch often referred to as a gular pouch (or colloquially, a "crop" or "gullet"). This anatomical feature acts like a built-in backpack, allowing them to collect and hold multiple food items simultaneously before flying off to hide them.

The Steller's Jay is the official provincial bird of British Columbia, easily recognized by its dark black head, prominent crest, and deep blue body. Named after German naturalist Georg Wilhelm Steller, who first found the bird in Alaska in 1741.
