Yes, and no. My problems apeared not when card is used intensively (i.e. RAW burst or 4K high bitrate video) but when I just turn camera on to review etc.
Amazon and ebay are the places where one is most likely to be sold counterfeit products. Neither company cares so long as they get their part of the profits. Stick with reputable resellers.
I buy Pergear CFE Type A cards on Ebay, as that's how Pergear sells them.
I bought my A7RIVa on Ebay, as that's how Sony Australia sells 'damaged box's products.
I don't think I'm being pedantic. I think Ebay can be considered reputable and possibly
safer than buying direct from sellers as buyer can appeal to Ebay if there's a problem.
Obviously this varies with specifics of the sale.

The problem is that eBAy is not the seller, but a marketplace for all sorts of companies. Like Amazon it attracts many shady ones. I've been ripped off on the eBAy like many others have. Mostly I only buy low-value or older used products not otherwise available.
