So little discussion regarding this lens. I see this as one lens that provides an extreme challenge to the way I shoot.
Is it ignored because it is expensive, or heavy, or both? Perhaps it is ignored because it isn’t another replacement for a traditional lens. What can a fast, high quality zoom in this focal range do that other lenses can’t? For me, I’m hoping that it completely changes how I shoot and the way I view the subjects that I shoot.
I thank Tim Devine for showing me that this lens isn’t just another portrait lens.

True, that would make it more popular. From my perspective, it’s the 2.0 vs 2.8 that makes this lens special.
I do a lot of event photography (concerts). 95% of all images I shoot are in the range of 50-150mm. Presently I use a set of fixed focal lenses between 50 and 135mm.
This lens could easily replace 50-75-100-135 with an added bonus of some more reach.
