I ended up going with the 1.8G, and I've been extremely happy with it.
That said, I definitely have a bit of a 50mm collection problem at this point:
50mm f/1.2 AIS
50mm f/1.8G
58mm f/1.4G
Z 50mm f/1.2 S
Z 50mm f/1.8 S
Pentax SMC 50mm f/1.4 (adapted to ZF)
And apparently, the same goes for my 85s:
85mm f/1.4 AIS
85mm f/1.4G
Z 85mm f/1.2 S
Z Viltrox 85mm f/2 EVO
Pentax SMC 85mm f/1.8 (adapted to ZF)I was an ardent Pentax user prior to 2010 when I changed to Nikon. I wanted FF and Pentax weren't going there any time soon. Not only that, but Nikon had the D700 which is what I bought. Loved the Pentax glass and I had many of their finest lenses like the FA*28-70 f2.8, FA*80-200 f2.8, FA31 f1.8 Limited, FA43 1.9 Limited, FA77 f1.8 Limited, A*200 f2.8, A 50 f1.4, FA50 f1.4 just to name a few. I never had the legendary A*85 f1.4 or A*135 f1.8 but would love to try them out on my Nikon Z8/Z9.
So, what do you think of the Pentax 50 f1.4 and Pentax 85 f1.8 adapted to Nikon? Are these M or A manual focus?...Show more →
These are M42 Mount Manual Focus.
I personally love both the 50 1.4 and 85 1.8! They output some incredible images! I just need to use them more but I feel like I got too much stuff and not enough time.
