p.1 #1 · Omaha, Nebraska

During my recent 14 day road trip, I spent two days in Omaha, Nebraska. Here are a dozen photographs that I captured--all within walking distance of my hotel:

- The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge crosses the Missouri River and connects Omaha with Council Bluffs, Iowa. It's 3,000 feet long.

- The Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement was located across the street from my hotel. I visited several times during my two day stay as it provided endless compositions for architectural abstracts.

- The Farnam Pier in the Heartland of America Park

- Omaha's Largest Coffeehouse

- The First Financial Bank Tower. This is the tallest building in Omaha for now. Soon, it will be surpassed by the Mutual of Omaha Headquarters Tower which is currently under construction.

- Dungeon of the Damned in the Old Market area of Omaha

- Omaha Police Department...the brutalist architecture with is massive geometric forms, repeating patterns, exposed concrete and fortress-like construction is designed to project power, permanence, and civic authority.

- Another abstract from the Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement

- First National Bank Tower

- Farnam Pier

- Yet another Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement abstract

- Douglas Fountain and Conagra Lake...the tallest building in the skyline is the Mutual of Omaha Headquarters Tower--which is under construction and will stand at 44 stories high.

Thanks for looking...onto Kearney, Nebraska!
