p.1 #1 · European Bee-eaters

My favourite of all the European birds, this species is colourful, extremely fast fliers and very efficient areal hunters. Some very tough late spring Portuguese lighting but they were a hoot to photograph constantly catching, Bees, wasps, grasshoppers and dragonflies on the wing.

Really well done action Jose!

Now I know where all the bees are going...if only we could train them to just eat the invasive species like the killer bees and murder hornets, and the new flesh eating flies, heh.

Hi Eric, actually on this particular day I saw birds bring back hundred of insect and didn't see any domestic bees, they were mostly grasshopper, wasps and bumble bees, moths, butterflies, dragonflies and the occasional praying mantis. I have seen them capture asian hornets which have invaded the country, still a lot apiculturists have a dim view of these birds.
