VALOI 360 PROFESSIONAL SCANNING KIT 35 & 120
With the acquisition of a friends extensive redwoods collection, I knew I needed a more fixed and steady holder arrangement than all my mickey-mouse fabricated "holders" which I have to keep adjusting for almost every image (an image of one of those was posted earlier).
Because both 35mm & 120 film + slides are involved, the above mentioned kit. seemed ideal to me. It includes the film advancer, an adjustable light source, 2 film holders (35 & 6x7), 3 masks (6x4.5, 6x6, and 6x7), an anti-static film cleaning brush & mirror for overall alignment of camera to film plane.
Setup was fairly easy and this morning I loaded one of my friend's mountain scenes taken with the Linhof Technika 6x9 camera and pushed the film into the 6x7 holder. Mindful of @geekcop@'s issues with flatness, I found that so far I am quite satisfied with the film flatness, even on the starting unsupported frame. YMWV!
My testing so far finds f8 & f11 a draw sharpness wise, so I'm going with f11
The 35mm slide holder is not part of the kit but I have it coming.
Below a couple photos of the rig at 12,800 ISO and then a scan of one of my friend's images. The results to my macular degenerated eyes are all I could ask for
That looks fantastic. Your holder though is not an easy120 like I used and abused. That is a different valoi product which appears to be working well for you. You should be good to go using that rig. Keep the images coming!

My first attempt at having a setup and scanning, I know it’s not perfect but after quite a few years doing some film photography, it’s very pleasing to be able to have some results at home.
I've been using the Easy120 to scan my 35 and 120 film. As convenient as it is to drop film off and get a download link from your lab back the same day, the quality jump and overall control I get back from home scanning is quite large.
Recent scans I got back from testing the LLL 35 APO had a ton of weird artifacts in them. The color and exposure felt generally off as well.

I completely agree. Even scanning with an APS-C camera (Fujifilm X-T5) the quality I get with the Easy35 V2 is leagues above what I previously got from my lab or my old Plustek scanner. The only challenge is converting the negatives in a timely manner! 😅

That’s the camera I use for my scans, too, and it works great.
