There is a lot of concern that LLM AI BOTs are too affirming and often make stuff up. As I review some of the comments in this thread I wonder if Claude could compose better comments, but maybe not so affirming as the usual Claude responses. Maybe even go so far as to be a snarky jerk. So I have been working with Claude to generate some comments to post on the FM site using a pseudonym (maybe RoamingBOT?) but so far I have not been able to get Claude to come even close to what I want. I will keep working on it and if I get Claude to stop resisting this change in personality, you can watch for a new FM'er to start posting. ...Show more →
Those that would willingly outsource their thoughts and decisions to an unknowable hivemind built from the smoothest brains posting on Reddit probably never had all that much say with their limited intelligence anyways.
For a few fortunate some, regurgitating from an LLM will be a step up from their usual grool.
I occasionally use ChatGPT and Copilot to answer some technical questions - keeps me from needing to read owner's manuals.
I have been retired for a number of years, but my wife, a senior level management consultant is still working. She now extensively uses about six AI platforms (several are fairly expensive subscription services) to accomplish her work. When she describes what she is doing (or not doing), I find myself a bit terrified by the prospects of where all this is going! With AI now creating new layers of AI, all this seems to be progressing at an exponential rate.
