p.1 #1 · The Voigtlander Z lenses are not so alternative...
Just a quick story. My buddy is the staff photographer for a well known regional magazine here in New England. They're still in print with pretty strong distribution for 2026. He shoots nearly everything with a Nikon Zf and the Voigtlander 40/1.2. We're talking features, ads, he does some side weddings. He doesn't switch lenses often at all. Of course he does have a gopro which he uses for photography in the water and a drone. But just wanted to chime in and say our definition of what a 'pro' camera is, often does not tell a complete picture.
And I think it's really cool that I've seen magazine covers shot with the little Voigtlander prime. I've tried to talk him into getting a Leica digital (he formerly shot with a Leica film camera for wedding work maybe a decade ago) or an X2DII (he has a 500cm film camera that he uses rarely)...but when the rubber hits the road, there is very little point to 'upgrading'. The Zf and the little Voigtlander punches way above it's weight class.
