I recently sold two cameras to get the new A7V. My A9 and A7iii have both left the cabinet for sunnier places.
I have an A7Riii which is going to stay with me for a long time. My decision to sell was based on coming to like the crop ability of the R3 vs the others 24mega pickles. The fact the A7V is as fast as the A9 and has pre-capture helped.
Do I miss either camera? No, not really. The A7V is close enough to being 'the same' as the others has helped get me over the 'hump' of missing the A7iii, which was the first new camera I'd bought myself in a long time. I never really thought I'd sell it. But I did and don't regret it.
The one camera I do wish I still had is the NEX-7 which started all this for me. I really miss have a 'small' camera for when I'm out on my bike. I've still got a couple 4 or 5 batteries that would fit one so there is hope yet.
By the way, I really am enjoying the colors coming out of the A7V. They look more 'real' to my eyes than the A9 or A7iii.
File size also played a part in my decision to get the A7V vs say an A1 or A7RV.

Thanks for the reply, Very good information to consider. I have been leaning toward the A7V at this point.
