That as well as the fact that Lens Rentals does their tests with an actual optical test bench while virtually every other test is done with photographing test charts.
Photographing the test charts results in a combination of camera sensor, processing the sensor data and the lens being tested. There's a place for that if one wants to know about that specific combination. but it limits the usefulness when comparing the optical quality of a lens.

True as far as it goes. But well-designed test procedures hold the camera, sensor and processing pipeline constant. At least when comparing lenses for the same mount, these other factors are normalized.
And, I'd argue that even when comparing different brands, the differences seen in lens sharpness are far grosser (and thus far more visible when shooting test charts) than the differences in acutance one might find between any modern sensors having similar resolutions.

I did like the lens a lot, and 35mm is my favorite focal length. But I found myself almost never actually using it at 1.4 and it becomes pretty large once you adapt it to RF. For me, when I’m shooting at the 35mm focal length, I usually end up shooting at f/3.2-f/11. So I sold it to fund an rf 24-70mm L and just use a rf 24-70mm f2.8 zoom lens to shoot 35mm. If I want to exclusively shoot 35mm or want something more portable I’ll use the rf 35mm 1.8 is. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great lens and I do wish I could have it back some days but it was just too pricey for me to justify having it while almost never using it.

I have the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 L II and use it both on my R5 Mark II and 1DX II and I bought it long before Canon introduced their RF VCM version. I bought it after I got the original R5. Unfortunately I had sold my Mark I version some time after moving to the RF system so I needed it back after realizing Canon did not have a class leading 35mm for RF at the time. Now it’s a staple in my Canon kit no matter how big and heavy it is. Admit I only shoot stills and no video with it but it’s still a great lens.
