Purple martins
p.1 #1Purple martins
A few Purple martin photos taken in the rain at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY. As there was nobody around I was able to stand near a branch they were gathering on and capture these speedy birds as they interacted, came and went. This was the closest I've ever been to them.

Nice work (esp. exposure in a highkey situation), #2 for me. At first I was thinking, "Too bad about the white background," but on 2nd thought it helps put the focus on the birds.

Nice set of these cute critters Morris.
Looks like they are quite vocal about landing too close or coming home empty handed, heh.

I just love #1. It reminds me of a Porsche banking on a road course. :-)
