Missed the peak northern lights a couple times. Managed to capture this on the Eastern plains of Colorado. Still hard to believe that they have been visible this far south

Wonderful composition~ Love that you had the red spectrum of light to photograph!
Here in Mary-land, when we get to see the "Northern lights", it is mostly green/yellowish waves shimmering with some red..
This is beautiful and the church only elevates that enjoyment!

As someone who recently joined the camera and photography space and am planning a trip to Iceland sometime soon, did you have to fiddle with having a long exposure and other settings a lot or were you able to dial in this shot pretty quickly based on experience? While night mode on my iPhone still wows me sometimes with what it can do, it doesn't do a great job of explaining what it actually changes.
Wow. This reminds me of Fox Creek Schoolhouse in the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve in KS. And I just looked up where Abbot church is. Apparently I drove by it on 70 yesterday, though it's quite a ways off the highway. Very pretty.
