p.3 #1 · What is your favorite lens(es) on the GFX system, adapted or native?

My favourite (now) is the GF500mm F5.6 lens.
I cannot claim that this is the most useful lens in my hands, but it is the one that I have most enjoyed using on the GFX100S II, although my lens kit is very small (GF20-35, GF45, GF55, GF500).

I struggle with "favorite". Is it most used in simply the number of frames shot? Or is it the lens you feel is the most exceptional of its type regardless of how much it used? I feel like the 110 and 250 are exceptional lenses but I will never need to use them as much as the 45, 55, or the 20-35, 45-100 zooms. I think the GF500 would end up in that group (110, 250) for me. I would love to have it and probably will at some point when the second hand price drops a little.

I understand the "favorite lens" as one that a photographer should distinctly enjoy using (on the one hand), and enjoy working with, and looking at, the resulting images, on the other.
Alternatively, there are "workhorse" lenses - the ones that work and deliver reliably, yet somehow don't excite.
As a non-professional photographer, I do photography for pleasure and as a distraction; thus, the emotional side is important.
Before adding my GFX100S II almost one year ago, I thought that using a long telephoto lens on this body was a ridiculous idea for obvious reasons (slow sensor, AF, typically heavy glass). Then, last May, I had a chance to have the GF500mm F5.6 on loan from Fuji Canada for a week, and this changed my perspective. I added my own copy of the GF500 in June when I was in Japan. Surprisingly, this lens is one of the lightest 500mm lenses known to me. It is perfectly balanced on the body - I use it always hand-held without the leg and without the hood (a Fuji clear filter is on the front). The linear motors in the lens are fast. The image stabilization is superb. The lens' controls are convenient. What further surprised me was that, against my low expectations, the subject detection with AF-C works well and better than when using AF-S. Now I mostly shoot the camera (with all lenses) in AF-C, except in some special cases. The icing on the cake is the color - there are few long telephoto lenses that aren't white (and I dislike white telephoto lenses, even if I own two such: Sony 200-600mm G and 70-200mm GM II).
What I like using the GF500 for? Different things: street/people photography (that can be done from a considerable distance), landscape, semi-macro (although this is challenging on small things with the GFX), perched birds, wildlife, and more.
I cannot exactly explain why the GF500 is my favorite of the four lenses that I have, but this is just how it makes me feel.
I don't want to recommend this lens to others though, as I cannot be sure whether others would like it or should find useful.
