Hi All, my G5 pull out eye piece on the pop up viewfinder pulled apart and needs repair. Is Canon still repairing these?
If not, any reputable fair repair shops you could recommend?
Hi and thanks for responding. I did speak to Canon. And I did see that notice on the website. Thanks for checking. I spoke with them and they said to send the camera in anyway because they still have parts that they can fix it with. But I’m a little skeptical because they then said “and if we can’t fix it we’ll replace it with a similar or better model.” I told him that there is no better model that Canon makes because no other point and Shoot has an eyepiece versus using the rear screen. The only real alternative camera that could do what the Canon does is the Sony RX 100. But I tried that and I didn’t like it. And I have an Olympus stylus one old, but still a great camera with the sensor is so small. And I have a Sony RX 10, fantastic camera but not portable for taking into concerts for shows when only appointed Shoot is allowed. I still use my Nikon C8 for shows where I’m allowed to bring the camera in. But that Canon G5 XIi Is perfect getting into shows under the radar.
