I'm seeing lots of these bodies listed for sale across the obvious places. For photography, they're so good I might pick up another one for a cheap price and have it converted to monochrom.
The RVI clearly resonated with lots of folks because it sure seems like it going to be a massive seller.
Race to the bottom on pricing also, 2300 that’s a bargain considering what that camera is capable of, gotta have those new toys. Good time to be a buyer.
Honestly, I don't blame them, and if I had an A7RV, I'd probably be doing the same. I recently lived the mistake of hanging onto a body for a bit too long only for the cost of repair to be more than I could have sold it for a handful of years prior, so my whole perspective has kinda shifted towards cycling camera bodies more rapidly while being a bit more choosy about the glass I buy.
very few sold their a7iv to buy the a7v, if a camera works perfectly for what you shoot, why upgrade. after watching the reviews the video is better in apsc mode 4k than full sensor 8k for detail and sharpness 🤔
Just an fyi. Was in a BigCamera store today in Bangkok ( largest Thai camera dealer) and a new A7RV was $2,638 USD, about $200 off. The local tax is 7.5%, but I can get the tax refunded at the airport when I leave in July. Tempting, but I will wait for a better price from B&H later this year and they pay the state sales tax with the Payboo card.
Is very simple, if you don't plan to use your body until is dead, you better sell it not too late, before it loose all the value.
Imagine that I still have my old Nikon Z6 and I will not sell it, because I don't think I would find someone who will pay me now more than $500 for that. So for me is perfect second camera. I don't care anymore if I scratch, hit or when I travel to strange destination is perfect low value item, but I can still take very good pictures.
I have been eyeing an A7CR, A7RIV and A7RV for months now. I currently have the Canon R5 which I like a lot, but don't like overpaying for 3rd party quality at an L series price. I will get bashed for that statement but with the amount of software correction it isn't the same quality as the EF L lenses. The A7RV is probably the equivalent to the Canon R5. The A7CR which would compliment the Canon nicely maybe with a price I am willing to pay in a couple of months.
I'll keep my A7RV, it's a really nice lens, but the new A7RVI has some new features I'd like to have. My A1 will likely show up on the B&S Forum here after I've given the RVI a thorough checkout.
