p.1 #1 · New Viltrox AF 35mm f/1.4 Pro lens coming next week
Both PR and SAR reporting it -
The Viltrox AF 35mm f/1.4 Pro full-frame lens for Sony E-mount is confirmed to debut the week of May 15-18, 2026, at the Beijing P&E Imaging Show. This new lens will be part of the Viltrox Pro series, joining the existing 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4 lenses, with a Nikon Z-mount version following later.
As of now, Viltrox does not make the same focal length in both the LAB and PRO lines simultaneously. It would be the first example of that overlap. That should finally clarify what Viltrox actually intends to differentiate between the LAB and PRO series.
If the assumption is that LAB is reserved exclusively for f/1.2 glass, then the LAB 135mm f/1.8 already breaks that logic. Especially when Sigma has a 135mm f/1.4, aperture alone clearly is not the defining factor behind the LAB branding.
Nor does it seem to be purely about coatings or flare resistance, considering the budget Viltrox 14mm f/4 already performs remarkably well in that regard and shows very little flare for its price class.
