p.2 #1 · Strap on lens or camera

Strap on lens for anything longer than a 70-200. Although does anyone else have a good idea for carrying around the sigma 300-600 without being in the backpack. I have resorted to using a flag bearer harness and a monopod to distribute the weight. It just a little ridiculous so curious if anyone has better ideas.

I'd suggest a simple solution of putting the strap on the heavier of the two. If the lens is heavier than the body, using the strap on the lens puts less stress on the lens mount. If the body is heavier, then the same result, only in reverse with the strap on the body.

Just echoing what some others have already said: If the lens is larger/heavier than the body, then use the lens lugs mount; otherwise, use the camera body's!
