This one is in swamp snot green colour:

Absolutely stunning color aside, this image belongs in the 3D pop thread.

When I found out about manual mode with auto ISO and exposure compensation it made digital more hands-on and my shots better too. Why I didn't dive in to that a long time ago is really baffling.

The thing about running those settings is the transition back an forth to a film camera is almost seamless...almost.

Maybe because it wasn't available until the early-mid 2010s for the most part? Depending on brand and model, the older "Auto ISO" mode was not truly that. Either it did not hold both the aperture and shutter fixed and/or did not allow EC.

How one uses a tool is totally dependent on the person…not the tool. If digital makes you go click, click, click…that’s you. If you just mindlessly press the shutter without thought…that’s you.

Shooting digital is like eating ice cream out of a half gallon container rather than a sensible scoop or two in a bowl. :-)

Nice to see another Reto Reporter. I have one in combat green too. It is what I take when going into war zones such as my local Mexican on a Friday night.

Nothing sensible about shooting film.

I don't eat it anymore, but I usually ate iced cream from the carton (one max. per week). Nobody else dared touch it. Who wanted to clean an extra bowl late at night?

Well if you are referring to digital photography, Nothing! Even if you lack the disciple to not over-do it...unlike ice cream the only thing that will get fat and bloated is your hard drive!

true.
Like a lot of photographers my other hobby is hi-fi stereo stuff. It makes me think about a cartoon I saw, where one guy was showing his stereo to another and the caption read: "I listen to vinyl for the expense and inconvenience".

Yeh, but you have to spend endless boring time cleaning the bowls when one can sit on the deck and thoroughly enjoy the sunset while eating the ice cream out of the container.

Seems to me you lack both the discipline when it comes to ice cream as well as digital photography. Don’t blame ice cream for your bulging waste line nor digital photography for your excessive images…both are totally on you.

Absolutely! I have almost as much stereo equipment as I do photography equipment. I’m finally starting to pair down on my hobbies. I was out of control for a while there.

I've been okay with it. Still have a lot of my gear from the late 80's 90's. Hearing is not what it used to be. So it does not matter.
There are a lot of parrels in the audio and camera world. Especially when it comes to older equipment.
The vinyl resurgence - and now tape. I actually saw reel to reels at AXPONA this year ($$$$$). Cassettes believe it or not are back to some degree.
Vintage gear is a thing. Freaking Marantz receivers selling for a couple grand.

I don't know if you looked but film cameras are way up.

Absolutely right! OTOH, for those of us who aren't professional there's nothing sensible about owning any great modern camera, or any camera at all. Unless you want to count having fun as sensible. It would seem sensible, or as Sarek might put it, logical, to count having fun as sensible.

Film photography makes me happy, it does not harm me, it does not harm others, nor is it in violation of the Geneva Conventions, so I am doing it, as a hobby.

If this creates enemies, I'll paste the following quote: “You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.”

I'm out shooting Washi Y in 120 today.
