for my money, this is the pinnacle of the DSLR lenses lineup. the best FL lens every made. it should be great for anyone covering the FIFA world cup this summer.

It is certainly one of Nikons best. I have shot them all and this lens delivers images that only the primes offer.
Certainly the Z mount will be fantastic but you will probably have to put out 12k for that lens with a potentially long wait . I would wager I could get images that are just as good with the F mount as the Z mount. The focus acquisition is awesome on the Z9 as I have shot high school baseball with it and it seems to focus as fast as my 600TC on my Z9 which I have used at times for baseball.
The big question is will the Z mount be worth approx. 6K more....and I doubt it since even the Z mount will probably require a monopod. So for me if this lens doesnt sell it will probably save me at least 5k or more
