I'm sure this place is on many of our bucket lists and suspect it has been presented multiple times here on FM. I also posted a different image in the B & W forum. Long way from home but I'm sure glad I was able to visit it.
Nice image and great composition Al! Looks like you could shoot with just about every focal length there and come away with many good images. Glad you got to visit and capture it.
Nicely done Al! You had a good light shining through the canopy also. Somehow it reminds me of a "tree tunnel'' in Ireland - I believe it is called "dark hedges"; never been in Ireland (yet)...Great capture, thanks for posting.
amazing picture. must have been a thrilling experience to be there. makes me think of the saying, there's light at the end of the tunnel. thanks for sharing.

I shot a number of images with my CV 21, 50 GM and 70-200f/4 and I found the compression provided by the larger lens gave best results.

Yes, 'Dark Hedges' or 'The King's Road' of Game of Thrones fame! I visited Ireland in 2022 with a tour group and we ended up less than an hour from this famous site but I couldn't get away to visit it. I was disappointed about that until I learned of Wormsloe in Georgia and so I promised myself that I would stand here someday.
So much of what we can capture depends on the quality of light and though they are different I now believe this place may be every bit as good as Dark Hedges. The State of GA has done an excellent job of protecting this place. Up to just a few years ago they allowed cars to travel the road which made it next to impossible for photographers to get similar images. The park ranger explained that their new policy has been well-received by the public.

Thanks Vol! Yes, it was a great experience and I hope you make it there someday.
Sweet image Al! I grew up in Georgia and Savannah and its surrounds were one of my favorite parts of the state. Would love to see more of your images from the trip. Thanks! Steve

Thanks, Steve! Savannah is a beautiful city and we enjoyed our visit. I've posted three other images from that trip...two as B&W's and another in Landscape. -Al
