I have the BC-ZD1 Dual-Battery Charger and it works just fine. I bought it separately for the A7rV, but now it's useless with the newer a7rVI.
Are you sure it is a cable issue and not the USB-C PD power source? You only need a standard 3A cable, not the 5A (often labeled 100W) cables. Specs indicate 15V@2A maximum, but it's better to have a higher rated PD as they tend to cheat a bit. I use Anker 45W, 65W or higher PD.

Now you can buy the Sony BC-ZD1 Dual-Battery Charger for NP-FZ100 Batteries for $138US and you don't even get a power supply or cable. Talk about lame.

Earlier quoteRequires a separately available USB PD compatible power supply that can provide 30W or higher output, with a USB-C cable that can support 3A or higher current.

What’s new, A7iii and A7IV did not come with chargers either

Get a third party one and be done with it

Which USB-C cables do you have? Some random cheap knock-off ones? Isn't a cable included in the box?
