p.1 #1 · Atumi Design MP-Ti - a complete titanium refurb for your Leica MP
The recently bumped thread about the poor build quality on the Leica M-A titanium reminded me about this announcement from Atumi and Fotopia.

Despite the stylizing of the press release, the photos clearly show this is for the film Leica MP and not the digital Leica M-P. Anyone thinking about making their MP into a very expensive, slightly lighter, and rather unique heirloom piece with this transformation?

It does look great, an expensive indulgence but I will give it to them, and Leica should pay attention, they got rid of the plastic dial on the back for metal, I never could understand why Leica could not give us MA dial for our MPs or an upgrade- this shows it can be done.

I'd be one of the crazy few to really consider this. However I might most likely shy away from it due to all the hassle around getting my MP through customs and back.
Plus their homepage doesn't exactly tell you much and despite the inner craving for a MP-TI, I'd be somewhat reluctant to send my MP off to some random company I couldn't find anything about before they suddenly popped into existence a year or so ago.

I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll make parts in brass eventually. Leica NJ lost my frameline preview lever, and they won’t have replacement parts for at least a year!

I don’t know if this helps but Fotopia, the Hong Kong Leica store, is handling international orders for this. I reached out to them and was told it’s a HKD19,900 deposit, you tell them what all you want in terms of colors, custom engraving, leather choice, then send them the camera. 3 month turnaround and 1 year warranty, remaining HKD19,900 due on completion. All in about $5100 plus the cost of your MP.
