This particular afternoon at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon had times of being socked in with foggy rain clouds, times of clearing where the remaining particulates in the air softened the light nicely, and times where patchy clouds created an interplay of light and shadow. After shooting views from the rim, I turned around and saw the ponderosa forest full of misty fog (last image) and that is probably my personal favorite of this set.

Wow Guy, 8x20! When I was a 4x5 shooter I heard about a few folks using that big pano setup but never met any. That must have been spectacular! And challenging. I thought long and hard many times about moving to 8x10, but stayed with the ‘small’ large format for lower film/developing costs and lighter setup.
