High temps in a relative way, that is. I didn't even bring gloves on this hike.
This photo was taken a couple days ago. Based on what I've observed of this lake over the last many years of photographing it, this level of melt is what I'd normally expect to see in mid-June. Previous years, late March through April and the lake would still be frozen, covered with snow, and totally walkable. We've had record low snowfall and record high temps this winter, and it's really showing.
Colorado? Things are definitely melting out WAY early all over the West this season. In California, the Sierra snow water readings are currently lower than they have ever been.
It is going to be a strange summer and fall in 2026.

Yup, this is in Rocky Mountain NP. It's definitely going to be strange, especially with all the wildfire risk!
