This is a top performing spotting scope with large 82mm aperture and ED glasses. Optically it is neck to neck with any of the current Alpha spotting scopes. Nikon moved the production to China to save on the cost, which is why it can retail at its relatively "low" current price (of $1700).
I sent in my Nikon ED 82A fieldscope for service, but received a new Monarch ED 82A as a replacement instead. I have already had a lot of eyepieces for the older fieldscope which are not compatible with the newer Monarch series scopes, so I am going to find another old ED 82A instead. Selling the brand new Monarch here to fund the purchase. I will include the original Nikon invoice so that the new owner can have the transferable life time warranty from Nikon. I only open the cover of the box just to take a photo showing the content inside, you will get everything fresh and untouched.
