Autumn has long been my favorite season to photograph. I’ve been fortunate to make shooting trips to some wonderful US fall hotspots such as the Adirondacks, White Mountains, Michigan UP, Smokies and Blue Ridge, and Sierras, but I’ve never experienced the sheer productivity amid spectacular conditions as I did this last fall in Utah. I first began photographing in UT 26 years ago but this last trip I committed more time and intensity to follow the color wherever I found it, from the north end of the state to the south, racking up many thousands of scouting miles, and I continue to be in awe of what I saw, experienced, and composed. Here is another set of scenes that caught my eye as I have continued editing and developing in recent weeks.

There's little question that Utah is a great fall color location, staring in late September with high country aspens, then working its way through the canyon country for another month and a half.

Thank you, Dan, the foggy conditions are my favorite. Yes indeed, it was a nice long fall photography season, my first shooting day was September 22 in the northern canyons and my last was November 11 in Zion, very satisfying.
You continue to impress with your incredible fall images. I believe this is 3rd or 4th set of yours and each and every set has been a pleasure to view again and again
