Skitouring around La Grave
p.1 #1Skitouring around La Grave
It's been a while since I posted in the Landscape forum. Here are a few shots from a skitouring trip around La Grave, France.
(I'll also post in the Sony forum some of the action shots, since I was trying out a new lens):
Mid-afternoon shadows
Zigzags
Painterly light
Changing light
Clouds behind
Jagged horizon
Chapel

Thank you Jung! Fortunately, most of the time the weather wasn't overly harsh...but the mountains can be, only a few days later someone died in an avalanche skitouring very close to where we were (though after a fresh fall of snow).

Many thanks! I always find it tricky to select the right shots, glad the bookends have hit the mark!

Thank you Jim!
Sometimes I think that skitouring photography captures the essence of my photographic style... I often like to move fast even when I'm stuck in one place (and I'm sure I missed countless compositions because I wasn't patient enough), and I really value the experience of being in a far away place with few others around.
