I just took a very quick look (will return later) but that brings back some memories.
I recall nearly a decade-and-a-half ago while participating in some social-media-organized photo events (anyone else remember the brief but impressive run of Google Plus?) when we started seeing the X100 show up among the sea of DSLRs. People seemed very enthusiastic about it, but at first I could not understand why — though I admit to being intrigued and curious.
Soon the XPro1 was released, and the possibility of interchangeable lenses appealed to me more. I was firmly committed to my DSLR system at that time, so I did not get it. But very soon the XE1 was released, and it seemed like a great way to test that Fujifilm waters. We got two of them, with the 35mm f/1.4, 60mm f/2.4 macro, 14mm f/2.8, and the 18-55mm zoom. These tools provided an extremely useful alternative for travel and street photography, and I was soon hooked. Before long I acquired the XPro2, and it was the basis of my second system alternative to my DSLR system.
2011 and already history...
I had 65, 90 and 300mm Fujinons for 4x5" camera, owned a GX680 camera too.
For me Fuji Optical is that more than digital...
Nice article, hard to believe it's been so long. First bought into the system with a used XE1 + the small 35/1.4 to try it out. Wanted a smaller camera I could take with me all day, everyday and fit in my laptop bag. Later ended upgrading to the XPro2 when it came out and ended up staying with Fuji.
