I am a long time Fuji X shooter but have come to love the 50/2 APO Lens and 75/1.9 Ultron. I even have a few Fuji X mount Voigtlander lenses. I realize that Fuji and most FF cameras have thick sensors which cause issues with m-mount lenses, although my Fuji sensor crops out some of the issues in the corners.
I really enjoy the manual focusing experience with the XT5. I realize that best IQ would be with an M body, but I want to keep use of an EVF. The newest M with an EVF is way too expensive for me.
Does the SL2 work well with voigt m glass? I would give up the EXIF data, but that's ok.
Biggest thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on a used SL2 is the size / weight.
If I go this way, I will likely pick up the 28/2 APO Lanthar for a 28/50/75 kit.
I have never used a Leica before so likely don't know what questions to ask. I see accessories are a bit pricey but assume there are 3rd party batteries and such.
Reasons: I want to maximize IQ and this would allow me to use the full glass, not just a crop. I have found I love the premium feeling of the voigt lenses - (realize they probably are not as good as Leica glass, but I can't afford the $$$$.)
Do those of you who are a bit older travel with a SL2? I could still use my XT5 with the 18/2.8 and 35/2 APO when walking around a European city or some other fun place.
You should also take a look at the original SL601. I still have mine, it has a great EVF and was specifically engineered to perform well with M lenses. Image quality still holds up well.
