Adapter for using Leica R lenses on Sony E cameras. Leitax adapters differ from typical adapters which have bayonet mounts on both sides in that they screw onto the back of the lens. This is a little bit of a complicated modification with some models such as the Leica R to Nikon F that require *replacing* the existing bayonet, but this Sony E version is very simple because it just screws *over* the bayonet. The advantage to this is that it's more rigid than a typical adapter, the disadvantage is that you can't swap them on the fly out in the field (installation takes just a screwdriver and maybe 2 minutes, though, so you don't have to buy a one for every single lens you own, just for however many lenses you want to be able to carry on a given day/shoot).
