p.1 #1 · Looking for a reliable display calibrator for MacBook Pro – Spyder Experiences?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on choosing a reliable screen calibrator for my MacBook Pro (14-inch M4 Pro with Nano-texture display). I mainly work on the built‑in display, but I occasionally connect an external monitor as well (Dell Ultrasharp U2720Q). Ideally I’d like a calibrator that handles both without any issues.
Right now I’m considering the Datacolor Spyder series, specifically the Spyder and Spyder Pro models. If anyone here has experience with these on recent MacBook Pro machines, I’d really appreciate hearing how well they work in practice. I’m especially curious about colour accuracy on the MacBook’s display, how stable the profiles are over time, and whether the software behaves well on macOS.
It would also be a bonus if the calibrator can be used on other computers in the household, so if that’s something you’ve tried with the Spyder devices, I’d be grateful for any insights.
Icing on the cake would be if I could use it to calibrate the Samsung TV (Samsung S95C OLED).
Thanks in advance for any help or recommendations!

I’ve used Calibrite Display Plus HL to seamlessly calibrate my 2024 16” MacBook Pro and three other monitors. Great software and hardware. Previously, years ago, had a Datacolor Spyder. Not sure about the TV. Software would need to run on the TV.
