f/4 it is, but this is an awesome lens no matter what we call it! Best macro lens ever, in my opinion, if you can live w/o autofocus [**edit: this is on Z cameras...AF works great on many F cameras!**].

Its an AF lens. Mine has fantastic autofocus - very precise on my D7200/810/850's. Maybe you are talking about on a Z? The Monster FTZ is supposed to work properly soon.

I just wanted to provide a bit of information regarding the Monster LA-FZ1. I was one of the early adopters since I have several "D" lenses that I really like. Autofocus was very desirable. To make this short, the LA-FZ1 software version 1.2 works pretty well but not great. It works with primes such as my 20mm f2.8 and my 135mm f2.0 DC much better than my zooms. It works on my 20 - 35mm zoom acceptably. The major issues is with my 70 - 180mm f4.5 micro zoom. It searches constantly and eventually in time it will lock on focus. Since the lens is a mirco lens I still use it maually focusing on subjects. I really like this lens and would use it for a "walk around" lens due to its versitility. Because of the limits of the Monster Adapter I can't use it for that purpose. In general, the adapter is kind of noisy and it has a tendency to search more that usual for the focus than native Nikon cameras. When is does focus it is pretty accurate. I've been in contact with Monster and they have been pretty responsive, saying they are working on updates.
