The Catoctin Furnace, located in Cunningham Falls State Park near Thurmont, Maryland, was a prominent 18th-century industrial site built in 1774-1776 by the Johnson brothers to produce pig iron. It famously supplied cannons and shot for George Washington's Continental Army during the Revolutionary War and operated until 1903.

This is an "unfinished project." I am trying to get the "era-esque tones to fit and am still playing with the files.

Well the actual historic site is still a 2 lane road but RT15 is 4 lanes and skirts the perimeter of the park.

They are rebuilding the original owner's residence. It is just a old brick structure at this time.

It is very easy to get in and out at the site.
