Will it have that dealbreaker for me central blue hazy flare ring the 50mm version has?
I don’t think so for the little samples I have seen, and more so one of the reason I was tempted by this version is that the coatings seem fairly different from the 50mm version, they look more transparent and have a clear amber teint.

Mine should be arriving in the next couple of days. I'll be posting environmental portraits with it to IG @SonnarGauss@
I have mine in China at the moment but no body. I borrowed a friends M10 for a few shots portraits and I liked it. Will see how it goes when I get home to Australia tomorrow. I might take the little wings off the focus ring. Seems a bit hard to use that way.
Arrived today. First impression is the lens is more solid in the hand than expected, and smaller than expected. Satisfying aperture detents. Focus ring stiffer than expected (may loosen up?). Difficult to use my one-handed right-hand focus technique with the pronged focus thing. Will likely remove and add adhesive rubber focus tab. Likely pictures tomorrow on IG @SonnarGauss
Yeah received mine yesterday. I really like it! It is indeed a dense little lens. Haven’t had a chance to shoot off a roll of it as my M mount cameras are all film, but I threw it on my Hasselblad CFV 100c and it looks very lovely, with excellent frame coverage for the crop medium format (not too surprising for 75mm but still this is a combo I could really see myself enjoying)

I'm curious how it compares to their Light Lens Lab 50mm f/2 SP II in terms of rendering.
First impressions from shooting with it today/yesterday. It has a tastefully restrained contrast signature that gives images a gentle softness without sacrificing structure. Its bokeh is well organized and textured/structured without becoming distracting, with only mild outlining, keeping the rendering balanced and composed ("painterly"). There is a mild-modest glow wide open, enough to lend atmosphere and softness to transitions, but not so much that the image loses coherence.
It also flares readily, though in a controlled and aesthetically sympathetic way, producing neutral-toned localized veiling flare and a gentle drop in contrast rather than harsh or garish artifacts. The overall effect is one of deliberate optical tuning rather than accidental imperfection. Of the many many lenses I have used, none evoke the term "cinematic" as immediately or as convincingly as this one. Its aberrations feel carefully shaped, giving the lens a rendering style that is expressive, intentional, and unusually refined. Ah, and it's also unexpectedly sharp across the frame.

If you own the LLL 50 SPII, how does the 75 render compared to the 50? Thanks.
I don't have the 50 SPII, but from what I've seen so far, the 75 has similar contrast, less outlining, sharper corners, cleaner flares [no blue ghosts/artifacts], similar glow [maybe toned down in corners?]. Relatively consistent visual signature, but slightly toned down aberrations. Best I can gather without a 1:1 comparison.

Just developed my first test roll I shot with it and I roundly concur. I don’t have the 50 either but I similarly agree with your conclusions in comparison to images I’ve seen and its general reputation. I really really like it. Very lovely lens.
Also learned I need to get better at using the 75mm frame lines. So easy to default to the 50 cause they are so close and solid. Bah lol.
A bit of an update after subjecting the lens to the flare breaking point. It does produce distinctive purple to magenta flare artifacts that appear to be part of its own optical signature, but only under very intense/extreme backlight. Rather than reading as harsh or distracting, they usually emerge as soft chromatic ghosts or washes within the broader amber veiling flare, adding color separation and visual complexity to the flare pattern. This gives the lens’s flare a more characterful, expressive quality, reinforcing the sense that its aberrations and flare behavior have been deliberately and carefully tuned.
I've already posted a few character-rich examples with the 2.0/75 SP-II on my Instagram.

Could you post a sample of the purple or magenta flare? That's a known characteristic of the 50/2 SP II.
Hi Fred, it won't let me post photos here, but I've tagged you on an IG story with the most extreme example I could elicit. Even with direct backlighting from the Australian sun, the purple flare artifact is very mild, and actually quite pleasant.

Thank you. I see your samples and they are lovely.
