My section of Maryland has many steel truss type bridges. This is one. 2 spans. over the Monocacy River. It is a metal 6 panel pin connected Pratt through Truss, Fixed. Built in 1911 by the York Bridge Company of York, Pa.
Main span is 114feet..Total span = 229ft.

Nice images, Dan. Cool Bridge.

@photonoclast there are no weight limits posted on the bridge. It was upgraded in 1989 with the addition of the integrated steel arches and additional deck structure. If you are interested, here is the Maryland HABS/HAER application:

It was very cold when these were taken Bill. Years ago.

My County is blessed with many olde style truss bridges. They dot the country landscape.

Thanks!
It was 65F yesterday, 40's today, and all the rain the "weatherguessers" predicted, never happened! Back to some cold temps.
Stay warm brother!

"pc"...There are no "weight limit" signs posted on or near the bridge that I recollect. The roads that many of these bridges span cannot handle large tractor trailers.

This is dairy country so "milk haulers" run the roads collecting milk to take to the dairy processors. They are 16 wheelers.

They bridge here is extremely sturdy and I am sure can handle heavy loads.
Thanks!

Thanks Kevin for your response and "info" post!

That pdf file link you posted is my main reference for the bridges I photograph.

I do have very many all over Maryland.
Thanks!
Dan
