A work colleague mentioned in passing he was selling his G1X II. Did I fancy it.
Turns out it’s boxed, complete with aftermarket hood,
I already had the Canon DC1 EVF from my Canon M6
So we agreed a price of £150
We are off to Paris next month
I’m tempted to take this , and this alone as I hear and read pickpockets abound, so wouldnt want the stress of taking a dslr with a selection of lenses.
My question is
Do any of you have experience of this camera?
Did you like it or hate it?
First impression are … it’s BIG !!
But the 24-120 f2-3.9 with aps-c 1.5 crop does sound good.
I’ve played with it over the weekend, seems ok but the JPEG’s don’t have much bite and there doesn’t seem to be a way to boost sharpness/contrast in camera…unlike my DSLR’s
I have the G1x MK3 and sometimes I carry that instead of the larger Sony. I did carry it often instead of my 6d MK2 and large lenses.
Regarding Paris - I carried my Canon M6 with handful of lenses in a messenger bag. Pulled in front of me on the train, otherwise no issues. I've also carried my Sony all over London, and my old 6d MK2 all over Florence.
