p.1 #1 · Leica Classic warranty & service certificate
I’d appreciate hearing about any experiences (good or bad) that any of you might have had with the Leica Classic (i.e. second hand) warranties and also the service certificate.
I don’t think there’s any question but that Leica Classic prices tend to be rather higher than other dealers (even quite reputable ones), but there are one or two lenses at the Leica store in London that have the certification that I’m slightly tempted by, hence my question. I’m particularly interested to know how useful it would be in practice if, for instance, a lens somehow developed (or turned out to have) a problem like haze or even fungus within the two year period. In such a case, would they be likely to say something like: “it was fine when you bought it, so tough luck”?
(I realise that any remedial work would likely involve the lens having a lengthy holiday in Germany.)
