Is this pointless on the non-mono version? Curious how the sensor may read the light shooting black and white with an orange or yellow filter. I know they work well on the mono versions but what about the standard version. Anyone have experience?

You can simply test it yourself by using the B&W JPG mode in camera and attaching the specific color filter. You might see in B&W darker skies than without red filter for example. The Bayer RGB pattern on the sensor will diminish some color filter effect perfect to be used on a monochrome sensor (or full-spectrum converted sensor), but you might still get something on a regular color sensor.

I was wondering the same thing. Just got into digital from film and I figured if I’m shooting raw, I could just make adjustments in Lr.

I shoot almost exclusively with monochrom sensors, and use yellow, orange and red filters.. But it would be pointless to use on a color sensor. It's much better to use the color sliders in Lr.
