p.1 #1 · The Tree

I was out early photographing architecture in a quaint town near me.

The tree was there as the dense cloud cover was becoming more filtered sunlight.
Thanks!

For me, this tree calls for a little more room to breathe, Dan'l! ...and perhaps a bit more light to separate the trunk from the band of background foliage.

Thanks Douglas!

The trees size is overwhelming! Yes the bottom of the trunk needs to be more lighted. Maybe a wider frame would bring out the expanse of the tree better.
The filtered overcast sunlight was throwing strange shadows on the "dirty" snow and on the fence. Being a wood fence all the dirt from the snow plow left very strange patterns on the weathered wood.

Thanks..I will try it!

To me, bare trees allow for the tree to showcase its personality, and what better way to reveal it than to capture it in B&W. Wonderful specimen you have framed here, with very expressive branches, twisting and turning as if dancing to the heavens. Well done!

Thank you Larry! That was my thinking exactly! The tree is way more enormous than my composition makes it appear or not appear.

The sunlight was changing from very overcast to hi sun in minutes.

The trunk of the tree was the "stand" I put the rest of the tree on to photography.

The natural vignetting of the lenses corners was a "gift".
Thanks again "Bf"!
