Is it 58 1.4 G, 28 1.4 ED or 105 1.4 ED for you?

I have a love - hate relationship with 300mm PF.

I have GAS for a 300mm PF to use with my D500

Obviously 200f2. I owned the VR I and haven't shot a single time.
I use 28 1.4 E and 58 1.4G frequently, had 105 1.4 E but sold it because I don't like it as much as 85 1.2 Z.

My new years resolution this year was no more purchase's of lenses and actually use all the existing gear that I have.

I said the same thing and now I’m about to buy a ZF to use with my Voigtlander 40 1.2 Nokton and 105 2.5 Ai.

My issue is that even though I don’t shoot many events anymore I still make just enough revenue from photography every year to keep buying toys.

I would LOVE to have the 58/0.95 Noct. For what I shoot, it would be a very rarely used lens, I'd almost never carry it due to size and weight, and in no way could I ever justify the cost, but my lord, it would be amazing to own.

I wish I could afford the 58/0.95 Noct I have to make do with my 58 1.4

I miss my 100-400. It wasn’t as good as my 500PF for wildlife, I rarely needed it for anything else, and my 28-400 does a good job as a substitute. But it was a very nice lens.

The Z 600/4 TC...I'd love to be able to put one through its paces without having to refinance my house

Good or bad, I have had the chance to own at some points all the Z lenses I wished to own.

Among those I decided to let go of due to low usage and/or the need to reallocate cash (call me a traditionalist but credit is an absolute no go for me for anything but a house) the Noct is clearly the one I regret selling the most. Pure optical magic. However the 50mm f1.2 S is nearly as wonderful while being much more practical so that money will go to a Z9II or to a next gen direct attached Raid unit I guess.

Cheers,
Bernard

None any more. In my youth I wanted that 6mm f/2.8 220° fisheye and the Cat lenses 500/8 and 1000/11.

Mostly tele lenses that I don’t need except for taking pics of my friend‘s dogs.. I’d love to test the 400mm f2.8 TC and the 200mm f2 some day.

AF-D 180mm f2.8 to use on film.

Also the 58mm f0.95 Noct would be fun to play with. More realistically I could see myself getting the Voigtländer 50mm f1 at some point.

Only ever shot with the 24-70mm f2.8S once, but it made me want one ever since. Now that the v2 is out used prices are starting to look really good too..

I enjoy my 105/1.4E. It's magical for portraits. But takes commitment to use!

I'm fascinated by the 200/2, but that's even more extreme.

Looking for a quality wide prime in the 14-21mm range, like a Zeiss, for landscape use. How well do Loxias adapt to Nikon?

I have an FM3A, and I wanted the 45mm 2.8 P for the longest time, even though I knew it wasn't a very good lens. I couldn't get over how good it looked on the camera, though, so when I finally found one complete with hood and filter for a little over $300, I jumped at it. Everyone was right, it's not great. Still pretty, though!
