They are comfortable, adjustable, lightweight (before you load them with gear) and if the pockets are empty, they fold flat. If you do have them loaded, they also save your back because they are centered with the suspender type straps.
I have been using these for 20+ years and have never found a better solution that allows me to carry a variety of gear depending upon the shoot and that is comfortable enough that I can wear it all day.
I used one of these some time ago... It can be quite versatile. However, what I disliked most about it though was that when loaded up - typically when in 'transit' between shooting locations/sessions - in warmer conditions it got quite sweaty around the abdomen under the Chestvest, because it's pretty tight to the body. Not a problem if it doesn't bother you or you never have to remove it during a session. But not a pretty sight if you do.
I'm a bit surprised that the Chestvest is still on the market. The website appears to be the same as back around 2005 when I bought mine. I guess if it still works, don't fix it!
I still like the Domke vest (I have two of them). Great for toting around some gear when you don't want/need to carry a camera bag. As someone also stated, it comes in handy to stick some lenses in the pockets if you're flying and they say your camera bag is too heavy for carry-on,

Do they say that nowadays on domestic flights with mainline US airlines? I thought carry-on weight restrictions were a thing of the past. But it's certainly still a thing for most of the rest of the world's airlines.

I've encountered it on flights overseas . . . not so much in the US.
