Overall, I like the unit very much on my Z6ii or Z8 but sometimes AF isn't very good at locking in when there isn't sufficient subject contrast/brightness especially indoors. However, I prefer using the MF mode with focus peaking that allows quick visual confirmation throughout the entire focus range and the focus distance is displayed on the lens' scale. Additionally, the focus box still switches color from red to green and the electronic rangefiner dot confirmation (in the lower left corner) appears when focus is spot on. Fortunately, the unit alway retacts for correct infinity focus when the camera is shut off. Don't forget to set the body's aperture control to F/1.1 for 90mm lenses to take advantage of the camera's IBS and EXIF data. Of course in MF mode, older heavier 1st or 2nd generation Summicrons still work great because you aren't stressing the 4 tiny AF motors. Compared to the Leica M EV1, the setup behaves the same or even better. However, remember the Leica M EV1 holds the final advantage over non-Leica digital bodies as it's sensor coverglass is much thinner than others thus retaining sharpness at the corners and edges for Leica M lenses at apertures wider than f/5.6.

his morning I decided to put the Voigt 40/1.2 on my Sony A7CR + Techart combo and take it for a spin.
It’s often slow and sometimes a failure to acquire focus. I couldn’t help think I’d have done much better with the M11P since I was pretty much shooting static objects instead of moving street as I usually do.
And I MUCH prefer the colors out of the M11P compared to the Sony which needed WB fiddling to get them somewhat okay.
I really see no use for the Sony/Techart combo. I’ll probably sell it if I get motivated.
Meanwhile, the Voigt 40/1.2 continues to put a smile on my face every time I take it off the shelf.

I'm going to assume the above shots were made using a Leica M didital body. Unless cropped, I'd expect some corner and edge softness on the Sony with the adaper at wider apertures.
