This Z8 functions perfectly, with amazing autofocus, high dynamic range, beautiful Nikon colors, and excels at both stills and video.
The fast readout from its fully stacked / back side illuminated sensor, and full electronic shutter (no mechanical shutter) deliver stills and video virtually free of rolling shutter concerns. Pair that with a weather sealed, “built like a tank” body, 3.2 inch 4 axis tilt rear LCD, and excellent IBIS, and you’ve got a near “do it all” camera, adept at virtually any type of photography or video.
Not that it matters, since the Z8 has no mechanical shutter to wear out, but the shutter count is 8442.
I have used this camera mainly for landscapes, but have also shot my grandsons playing sports, as well as some portraits. It performs incredibly well at anything I throw at it. I love the classic Nikon colors, and dynamic range of this Z8. I do very little video.
I have found my Z8 to be an amazing camera, but I am now trying to support 3 different camera systems (due to G.A.S.), and have come to the unfortunate realization that I can no longer do that, so I have to thin things out.
