This property was a very old water driven water wheel at one time, mill and a livery as well. The present stream, Catoctin Creek, was the water that drove the wooden paddle wheel.
Catoctin Creek winds it way for 30 miles through the lush Maryland mountain landscape. Soldiers of 3 wars drank of its waters and ferried to battle upon its breast. Antietam is in its path. It empties into the Potomac river and a border for Maryland and Virginia.
"Someone" removed the water wheel, diverted the creek, installed solar panels on its outside early 1800 yr olde brickworks. The all wood parts are stored in the basement which still has the olde style wooden wood joints as the 3 story rises above it.....it was a private ceramics studio when these images were taken..2009. The upstairs was a residence.
It has ... had a very olde metal cable style wooden bridge that crossed the property. Still in use.

Boy you got some neat stuff back there...Love these old buildings and the history of them.
Thanks brother!
This is located way back in "the sticks". It was a great find and even though it is registered as a "Historical Property" there are very few records on the property.
